### References

References let you guide your creations using images you love. You can use them to apply a visual style, keep characters consistent across scenes, or capture a specific mood, pose, lighting or composition.

References are most powerful when working consistently across these elements:

**Style** — apply a shared color, mood and visual language across your work
**Characters** — maintain facial features, proportions and presence across scenes
**Composition** — guide pose, lighting, anatomy or subject dynamics

### Creating and using References

Watch the video tutorial below and see how easy it is to create and use your own references. In the example, we’ll edit an image of a kitchen interior and:

**✓** create a reference to desert sunsets
**✓** upload an image of a minimalist, white kitchen
**✓** apply our desert reference for a new, inspired kitchen design
